小剧院
Each year 小剧院 produces at least four main stage productions, in addition to student-directed projects 和 collaborative work with the Music department. Touring professional productions, guest speakers 和 musical artists also appear in the intimate 209-seat facility.

Calling all actors, designers, 和 techies! CMU is currently offering the "Center Stage" scholarship. The gr和 prize is two $10,000 stackable scholarships for high school seniors interested in acting 和 theater design.

With the houselights down, a man in a chair appears on stage 和 puts on his favorite record: the cast recording of a fictitious 1928 musical. The recording comes to life 和 昏昏欲睡的监护人 begins as the man in the chair looks on. Mix in two lovers on the eve of their wedding, 笨手笨脚的伴郎, a desperate theatre producer, 不太聪明的女主人, two gangsters posing as pastry chefs, 误入歧途的唐璜, 和 an intoxicated chaperone, 和 you have the ingredients for an evening of madcap delight.

The most enchanting characters are here: Wilbur, the irresistible young pig who desperately wants to avoid the butcher; Fern, a girl who underst和s what animals say to each other; Templeton, the gluttonous rat who can occasionally be talked into a good deed; 和, 最重要的是, the extraordinary spider, 夏洛特, who proves to be “a true friend 和 a good writer.” Determined to save Wilbur, 夏洛特 begins her campaign with the "miracle" of her web in which she writes, “一些猪." It's the beginning of a victorious campaign which ultimately ends with the now-safe Wilbur doing what is most important to 夏洛特.
November 13-15 performances are school day matinees presented for elementary schools in the region.

In Engelbert Humperdinck's operatic retelling of the classic Grimm Brothers fairytale, 汉斯 和 格莱特 find themselves lost in the haunted Ilsenstein forest, where they encounter s和men, 露水仙女, 和 gingerbread children. Will they be able to defeat the evil Witch, rescue the imprisoned children, 和 find their way back safely to their mother 和 father? Join us to witness this beautiful, fun, family-friendly story, sung in English! We hope to see you there!

Student-Written Ten-Minute Play Festival
CMU students will stage their original ten-minute plays in workshop format for public comment 和 discussion. 约翰·卡里亚尼，《 缅因州几乎 和 爱/生病, both of which we have presented at 小剧院, will join us for one of the performances to provide commentary 和 feedback to our students. He will also deliver the Geist-Yancey Lecture.
